Hi, my name is Bridie
I am a Mother, Registered Midwife and Certified Hypnobirthing Australia Childbirth Educator, living on Wurundjeri land, Melbourne. I am passionate about providing birthing people with the tools and education they need to have an empowering birth experience!
Why Hypnobirthing?
I know that birth can and should be the greatest thing you ever do in your life. However, unfortunately there are many aspects of modern life that has caused more anxiety, disconnect and fear amongst us. I have met many pregnant people that do not trust their innate ability to give birth. Why is that?
As quoted by Dr. Bob Moorehead,
‘We have more experts, but more problems
More medicines, but less healthiness’
Giving birth should be empowering and amazing. I want to help families understand that birth doesn’t have to be something you are fearful of. I can help prepare you to have a positive experience and learn how to trust your body and your power. I believe in birthing people - and I believe that appropriate childbirth education is the gateway to achieving a positive birth experience. It is your right to feel safe, valued, and get the information and education you need, so that you can make informed choices about you and your baby.
I teach this course because I know it’s truly the most extensive, inclusive, evidence based education there is. And it works!

Group classes consist of 2 x 6 hour face to face sessions, currently held on weekends from 10am - 4pm. You need to attend both days. Group classes will be conducted with a maximum of 20 participants (10 couples)

Support after birth is essential to your physical and emotional wellbeing. I currently offer postnatal doula services, for emotional and physical support post birth. Sessions are $100 for 2 hours. This help can include:
Debriefing about your birth story and providing emotional support as needed
- Caring for baby so you can get some sleep

- Caring for baby so you can get some sleep
- Newborn care, assisting with bathing, feeding time and changing nappies etc
- Assistance with bonding with your newborn, including partners
- Supporting you to trust your intuition
- Support with discovering your own parenting philosophy
- Assist you in accessing community support and resources
- Light domestic tasks or nourishing meal cooking
